Lomax Fire Department Annual Pancake & Sausage supper

Lomax Fire will have their annual Pancake & Sausage Supper March 30th, 2013 from 1630-1900 (430pm – 700pm) at the fire station.  It is a free will donation.  We will have door prizes, and a raffle for a 50 inch LED TV, tickets are 1 for $3 or 2 for $5.  Contact a firefighter for tickets.  All proceeds will go to training & needed equipment.  We hope to see everyone there.  Fun will be had by all.

LFD has February business & training meeting

LFD had their business and training meeting on Feb. 2nd, January’s fire calls, reinstatement of a former firefighter and other subjects were discussed.  After the business meeting was over, firefighter Scott had a CPR refresher/renewal for all firefighters who needed it.  Next fire meeting is scheduled for March 2nd.

Lomax Fire is getting a new brush truck!!!

In November, Fire Chief Grisham informed the firefighters that Lomax Fire will be getting a new Brush-fire/Rescue Truck around July 2013.  YEAH!!!!

January Training

Lomax Fire had their January Fire meeting and training.  The winner of the 50/50 drawing was very generous and donated part of his winnings back to the fire dept. so from all of us at LFD, THANK YOU very much.  After the meeting, the department did training on Carbon Monoxide.  Training officer let everyone know that February will be CPR training.

Lomax Fire has a Winner

After a long and hard fundraising effort, Lomax Fire came up short with selling all the Polaris raffle tickets, so a 50/50 drawing was held with what money was raised from ticket sales on December 15th.  The winner of the 50/50 drawing is Richard Link of Oquawka, Il.  Congratulations from all of us at Lomax Fire.

Lomax Fire training

Lomax Fire had their monthly fire meeting and training on September 8th.  Lomax Fire had a business meeting at 8 am followed by 2 hours of training involving laying supply line from a hydrant to a fire scene.  Also a few members stayed after training and helped mount on the wall, the Fire Departments new TV that is capable of having powerpoint presentations and other multimedia training.

Burn ban over…. for now

Dallas Rural Fire Protect District has ended the Burn Ban for the area for now.  But please be careful and safe out there.  Remember what Smokey The Bear always says “Only you can prevent fires”.

Raffle for 800 Polaris Ranger

Raffle for 800 Polaris Ranger

This is a 800 Polaris Ranger similar to what Lomax Fire Deptartment is trying to get for fire and rescue. For tickets please contact myself or other members of Lomax Fire. Southeastern Comm. College in West Burlington, Iowa is having ConEd classes this Fall 2012 and Spring 2013.

For EMS: 24 ($120) & 48 ($240) hr Refreshers Jan. 17- Feb. 21, 6-10pm Tues & Thurs

For Fire: (All Fire classes held at SCC ERTC in Fort Madison, Iowa)

Forcible Entry Training – $20.00

Wed. Aug 8th or Tues. Aug 14th or Thurs. Aug 30, all at 6:30 Pm, minimum enrollment is 8.

Structural Search & Rescue – $20.00

Wed. Sept. 12 or Tues. Sept. 18 or Thurs. Sept. 27, all at 6:30 Pm, minimum enrollment is 8.

Vehicle Extrication – $25.00

Wed. Oct. 10 or Tues. Oct. 16 or Thurs. Oct. 25, all at 6:30 Pm, minimum enrollment is 6.
